The mandatory 2-phase course is designed to refine your driving skills and enhance your road safety. This program meets the legal requirements updated on December 14, 2018. You need to complete this course within a year of receiving your provisional driving license.

Course prerequisites: You must have passed the practical exam for category B or A and hold a valid provisional driving license.

Objectives

This intensive one-day course condenses years of driving experience to optimally prepare you for the road. You will learn to:

  • Early detect and avoid road hazards, thus strengthening your anticipation skills.
  • Thoroughly assess your own driving skills and your vehicle’s performance, for increased safety on the road.
  • Optimize your traffic perception and encourage driving that respects both the environment and other road users.

Program

Morning: analysis and practice

  • Accident analysis: Group case studies, focusing on risky behaviors among young drivers and the impact of physical forces on driving.
  • Driving simulations: Realistic driving situations to identify main accident factors, such as communication failures, incorrect safety distance evaluation, and excessive speed.

Afternoon: reflection and application

  • Self-assessment: Creating your driver profile through a detailed questionnaire for better personal understanding.
  • Accompanied driving: Observation and cross-feedback on driving behavior by the facilitator and other participants, promoting practical learning.
  • Ecological and economic theory: Techniques for more economical and ecological driving, including optimizing the use of gear ratios and anticipatory driving.
  • Group debriefing: Discussion of lessons learned, development of strategies to avoid risky behaviors, and encouragement of respectful and responsible driving.
